1. You don’t have to follow the “rules” There’s no one-size-fits-all way to run a business. Some people swear by rigid schedules, while others thrive with a more flexible approach. Some love networking events; others prefer quiet, behind-the-scenes work. The key? Figure out what works for you and own it. 2. Pricing isn’t just about numbers I used to feel awkward about setting my prices—like I was asking for a favour instead of running a business. But pricing isn’t personal; it’s a tool to build a sustainable business. When you price with intention, you create a foundation that supports both you and your clients. 3. Social media is a tool, not a lifeline Meta and other platforms are great for visibility, but they’re not yours. I learned to decenter social media and build an audience through email, referrals, and strong client relationships—things that won’t disappear overnight with an algorithm change. 4. Systems and planning save your sanity Winging it isn’t a strategy, and even the most fluid plan takes a little effort and lots of consistency. Whether it’s managing client projects, keeping track of invoices, or planning content, having solid systems in place makes everything smoother. That’s why I don’t just talk about productivity—I build it into my life. That doesn't mean constantly producing - it also means self care and delegation. From smart automations to my Monthly Plan Alongs, I’ve seen firsthand how the right tools and workflows keep businesses running (without the last-minute chaos). Planning doesn’t box you in—it gives you freedom. 5. The right clients make all the difference I’ve worked with incredible people who align with my values, respect my expertise, and make work genuinely enjoyable. But I’ve also learned that not every client is the right fit, and that’s okay. Saying no when something feels off makes room for the right opportunities. Final Thoughts: If you’re growing a business, be kind to yourself. No one has it all figured out, and the most important thing is to keep going, adjust as you learn, and trust that you’re building something meaningful. 💬 What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your business journey?
